How To Convert Your Guitar Hero Skills Into Real Guitar Ability

Have you ever been playing Rock Band and wondered how you could actually become a real guitar hero? Surely all the time you’ve put into practicing those skills have not gone to waste.

So, the question is, can you convert your Guitar Hero skills into real guitar ability?

Listed below are 2 of the main solutions around at the moment, that attempt to answer this question.

Solution 1 | Vision Guitar (still in production)

Learn Real Guitar Skills

Vision Guitar

The guy who invented this guitar, came up with the idea while he was watching his mates playing Guitar Hero and Rock Band. He noticed how great their skills were on the game, but they couldn’t actually play a real guitar.

Well, he put his brain to work and came up with what he calls the “Vision”.

Vision is a self-teaching electric guitar that incorporates video game elements into learning real guitar. Vision teaches through games involving visual and audio feedback.

Just like Guitar Hero

Chords, percussion, and popular music are played alongside the student to provide easy assistance, allowing the student to become familiar with the instrument in an environment they’re basically already used to.

This attempts to overcome one of the main problems with learning guitar, which is boredom. Sometimes it can be difficult to push through to the next level when first learning guitar. When learning with this system, as it is very similar to playing Guitar Hero and will keep you entertained for hours.

Unfortunately you can’t purchase this guitar yet, as it is still in the production/design stage.

The original creator of this guitar is Tyson Leslie.

Solution 2 | Fretlight guitar (Available In Stores Now)

Fret Light Guitar

Fret Light Guitar

Another similar idea, based on the concept of learning guitar easily is, Fretlight.

The Fretlight Guitar is a full-size, six-string instrument that has a built-in lighted learning system cleverly hidden under the fretboard.

It connects to a PC or Mac computer and the free software allows you to light up songs, riffs, chords, scales, or even take an interactive lesson!

Made to exacting standards the Fretlight guitar is fully adjustable, sounds great and plugs into a regular guitar amp like any other electric guitar.

You can read more about this guitar and software at the Fretlight Website.

They don’t have much information on their website, but you can read about it in detail here at engadget: http://www.engadget.com/2010/03/09/seven45-studios-talks-power-gig-details-we-go-hands-on-with-its/
